For wind and kite surfers, Playa Cabarete is the beach to sail and fly on. With a reef protecting this beautiful bay and daily strong tradewinds, Playa Cabarete has become one of the leading wind and kite surfing destinations in the world, and hosts such competitions as Master of the Ocean, where competitors must board, wind and kite surf to determine who is the best overall surfer. Many wind and kite surfing schools line the beach but experienced sail and kiters need not fret as Playa Cabarete is a huge bay with room for all. Not remote like Playa Encuentro, you can enjoy a great meal and/or drinks at one of the many bars and restaurants lining the rear of this strand. Sit right on the beach under the stars as these open air bars and restaurants move tables and chairs onto the sand after dark for the nightly party.
